France – Finals

If you watched the game last night you’ll know that France’s versatility played to their advantage and they won the game 1-0. Umtiti heads France into the Final.

Some highlights:
Kickoff started and the teams were at it to try and score their first goal but no such luck. From either end effort was put in, either to score or keep from scoring. Belgium captain, Eden Hazard going close before Hugo Lloris and Thibaut Courtois denied Toby Alderweireld and Benjamin Pavard respectively to ensure the opening period ended all square.

The best chances were given from defenders of the teams but in the end a centre-half opened the match with a goal for France in the second-half. France beat Uruguay in the quaters when Raphael Varane scored their winning goal, but this time Umtiti heads the ball past Belgium’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois when he met at Antoine Griezmanns corner.

Ahead France grinds down the clock to try and secure their spot until their spot was confirmed. And so they rob Belgium of their final spot only to play out for third and fourth place.

Belgium dominated the first half but France kept their cool and avoided to fall into their trap. Eden Hazard played his heart out for his country but France then took responsibility and controlled the match in the second half.
